The Anti-Cruelty Society recognizes that one of the most common reasons that pets are relinquished to animal shelters is behavior problems. ACS is also committed to helping the public develop and maintain healthy and loving relationships with their pets. The Department of Animal Behavior and Training offers two resources to help reach this end: a behavior hotline and dog training classes.

From its earliest days, The Anti-Cruelty Society has understood the importance of Humane Education. Today, the Education Department presents programs to approximately 40,000 students annually in Chicago's Public and Private Schools.
City of Chicago Department of Animal Care and Control Chicago Animal Care and Control protects animals from inhumane treatment, protects the public from stray and possibly dangerous animals, and enforces all sections of the Municipal Code relevant to animal care and control.
