Philanthropy

"We Make a living by what we get. we make a life by what we give..."

-Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965)

The River North Residents Association is committed to enhancing the quality of life for those who live and work in our community, including those less fortunate than ourselves.

Although as a volunteer-based non-profit organization, our ability to make charitable contributions is limited, we feel a responsibility to support good causes in three specific areas: community, children and the environment.

With this goal in mind, we have selected the four organizations profiled below, each  working in one of these areas, as our designated charities.  Throughout the year, we will seek opportunities to promote their efforts, educate the community about their agendas and help to raise funds so that they can continue their important work.

We encourage you to join us in this endeavor.  Thank you.

Community:

Cleanslate Chicago

Cleanslate Chicago (Cleanslate) is a neighborhood beautification business cleaning sidewalks, parkways, public gardens and vacant lots.

In addition, Cleanslate also educates community residents and businesses about the importance of recycling, and facilitates recycling efforts.

Cleanslate sets itself apart through its:

+ quality of execution,
+ fast and friendly professional service, and
+ focus on communities’ needs.

However, Cleanslate is more than just a high-quality neighborhood improvement project. It provides a real opportunity for individuals to learn and apply new skills, earn money, improve their long-term job prospects, and make a real difference in the community.
